About ICID

The International Centre for Infectious Diseases (ICID) contributes to the advancement of infectious diseases capacity in Canada and the application and amplification of Canadian expertise around the world. We work in the areas of training and consulting, research support, innovation support and in providing management services. An independent not-for-profit corporation, the ICID is based in Winnipeg, Manitoba.


The ICID identifies and fill gaps in the infectious disease training field through innovative, collaborative solutions. We contribute to skills acquisition and development for those involved in infectious diseases research, practice and management in Canada, and we help to apply Canadian expertise to meeting training needs in the international infectious diseases context.


The ICID contributes to the advancement of infectious disease research pursuits in Canada and by Canadians in the world by creating opportunities for exchange, collaboration and new enquiry and by providing research support services.


The ICID serves as a broker between public sector and academic pursuits and private sector interests. We help to translate innovation into application by brokering strategic relationships and by providing efficient, case-specific services.


The ICID facilitates the translation of ideas into achievable projects and initiatives through tailored, cost-effective secretariat services, project management and program management services.
