Be aware of potential for changes in public health, and labour legislation/policies (including WCB and Employment Insurance) specific to pandemic influenza
Review all contractual obligations considering impact of reduced availability of materials/resources
Consider including pandemic implications in all new contracts
Review health insurance plan’s applicability for pandemic influenza (ie, pharmaceutical coverage, extended health benefits, ambulance, death benefits)
Examine insurance policies, e.g. consider coverage for business cessation/loss of income, liability if employees become ill
Amend employee/labour union contracts as necessary
